Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends Soul gospel Jazz and R&B to create a unique mix. The singer's career has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European festivals and clubs and even to her participation in the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta however, she comes out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing piano in churches. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The very first track to showcase her vocals was Stalk You the Japanese version of 12 song. It has been re-mixed and is now element of her set. She has also contributed her voice to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to serve as the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine was brought to the attention of the nation during daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later invited to sing for President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
